But after a while I realized that if Michael Vick were a White athlete that was involved in dog fighting, the actions against him would not have been nearly as severe as it was for Mike Vick. And even though what Mike Vick did was barbaric and wrong, I began to see how the scales of justice is different for Black people. So now I feel that Mike Vick has paid more than enough for what he did, as long as he has learned his lesson and will never get involved with anything like that again. I’m glad that he is getting a second chance with his football career, and I hope that his career is as successful or more than it was before. Just wanted to let you know who you are if you have some doubts after the negative comments I’m sure you have read. You are a precious child of God, just like me. I just want you to know that I will continue to pray for you and your family. I watched in horror a few years ago when everything you worked so hard to achieve was suddenly taken away from you. That is exactly what happens when we disobey God. He sometimes has to take us all the way down in order to remind us that he is always in control. We limit our blessings when we do not operate in the will of God. I am sure that you have noticed even more blessings on your life, not just playing ability. You have a sense of peace now. You no longer have the heavy weight of guilt on your life. Sin is a terrible thing. Once you confess that sin, God is quick to forgive you of that sin and he forgets it. Unfortunately, people don’t forget. But remember God forgives and remembers the sin no more. That’s what counts. The bible says that he reigns on the just as well as the unjust. That means that people are blessed and may or maynot deserve the blessing. That is the kind of God that we serve. We have what we have because he blesses us with it. He can also take it away. He gives it back and more to let us know exactly without a show or doubt that he remains in control. There was a time when you had it all, you did not do the right thing with it. He let you have your fun and then he said that’s enough. He took it away. Now he will watch and see what you do this time when he gives you back more than you had before. I’m seeing a lot of people equating racism with those who are appalled by MV’s actions. While I’m sure it unfortunately coincides for some, I assure you that it’s not that way for everyone. So many are saying “they were just dogs”, and quite frankly, that frightens me. Dogs are living creatures and the fact that we as humans think that we are so superior over every other living thing is what is bringing on our demise. To the people who are knocking PETA for being an animal rights organization, what human rights organizations to do work for and contribute to? That wasn’t said to be rude or demeaning, it’s to prove that each individual can’t fight every good fight. We just can’t, so, we have to choose what’s important to us and focus on small goals to achieve the bigger goal. I personally chose animal rescue and Planned Parenthood to devote time and energy into and while there are many other very important issues these are the ones I feel I can be the most help in. For some of the bigger issues I educate myself and I vote! While I certainly think that MV should be allowed to go on with his life I do want to say one thing….while yes, he has paid his court ordered restitution and gone through the many hoops that were set up for him to go through, the actual cost to clean up his mess far exceeds what the court ordered him to pay. I would like to see him make a good faith effort to pay the individual rescue groups their costs over and above what the court ordered. I think that would show that he really did make a mistake and he’s willing to do what it takes to make it right. As for his girlfriend, I certainly don’t agree with this “stand by your man” business when your man did something that I feel is just terrible. I couldn’t do it….not for all the NFL’s money, but money isn’t what motivates me in life. That being said, the attacks on her looks and weight are so uncalled for. I personally think she’s a physically beautiful woman and even if I didn’t think that, I wouldn’t spew out such hateful things about her appearance. Hate doesn’t get us anywhere.
I agree with you that race always plays a part in bad things especially when it comes to black celebrities, that shouldn’t be. As for the animals, I am a person who is not an animal lover but I can understand the people who treat the dogs,cats,etc, why and how they feel sad for the things that happened to the dogs, but are they aware that in most states in this country animals are not people and can not be considered a part of the family, they are are property just like a car or a couch.
Yes he has paid his debt to society and God and is doing quite well. As far as PETA he paid an exobortant amount of money yo them to help defray the costof what he did. Those who thinks he should pay more than what he did should check with PETA to see where the is going.
His girlfriend people leave that girl alone. I think she’s cute although she could tone her style of dress down. The people who don’t like her don’t her so let her be.
I am alot older than her and Mike and have to son’s around Mikes age. There father played in the AFL many many years ago. Like you, no matter how much money and who is, if he gets into to trouble and I know he’s headed that way his history.
My sons father went in that direction and when the shady people started coming around I warned him to stop or me and the boys were history he continued and we were history. He regretted what he had done but I never returned, the boys to this spend a lot of time with their father. I never told them why left except that we grew up and grew apart.
People need to leave Ms Frink alone. And she needs to stop responding by calling them haters.

I’m not sure if you were addressing me personally or generalizing but, I am aware that animals are considered property. I just wanted to point out that unlike your couch or your tv or car, there are laws protecting (or at least attempting to protect) animals from abuse. Whether or not anyone considers them family or property it is illegal to abuse and/or neglect them. The couch….while red wine spills can be traumatic they aren’t punishable by law.
As for the money he’s paid, for arguments sake, lets say he did pay back every penny of restitution owed, court ordered or otherwise. MV claims to be an animal advocate of sorts now and even wants to own a dog again. I’m not saying he is or isn’t, but if he is, wouldn’t it be an act of good faith and proof to back up what he’s saying to help out the rescue organizations, not PETA, but the rescue groups that had to clean up his mess so that they can save the lives of other animals? If he truly wants to educate children I think he should be A) Volunteering in some sort of dog rescue program and B) Donating money to the cause. I’m not saying millions and I don’t have a dollar amount in mind. Actions take you a lot farther than words and I’d like to see some action beyond what was court ordered. I want to believe he’s truly remorseful for what he did, but without actions, I can’t yet rule out that he might just be remorseful that he got caught. If he has been doing the things I’ve mentioned and I haven’t heard of it yet, please do mention it. I couldn’t find anything on the matter, but I could be looking in the wrong places.

Yes, I was responding to you. I should have been more specific when I spoke of them as property. I know they’re are supposed to be protected by law just like we are supposed to be protected. That’s a whole nother talk show.
The moneies that were given to PETA was supposed to be distributed to various agencies to to help the puppies out and/or fix what ever is wrong and to the Humane society out. Whether that is being done I’m not sure.
As for Mike going to the shelters and working with the animals, he is not supposed to come in contact with any animals until 2013. He may even be able to own one at that point. I saw in the papers a few month ago a pet shop owner is willing to give him a dog right now, but he can’t accept it until 2013.
Him being an animal advocate was a part of his court order, but I think he is enjoying himself speaking to the kids letting them know that what he was involved in is wrong.
He has certainly grown a lot academically, he speaks well. A far cry from when he did the Mike Vick Project.
The Eagles and the NFL are squashing most of things he should be doing until he is free and clear to do anything mainly because of the franchise tag he has now. They’re afraid of the people who don’t like him my come after him just to make do or say something that he might regret.
Just type in Mike Vick in your search engine, all kinds of stuff pops up from his baby pictures not his kids too him going to the egles and much more. I think he even has a record label that should be coming out. It’s called MV7.
I could go on and on about MV, I’ve followed him since he was at Virginia Tech, he reminds me of my younger brother who is no longer with us, also a quarter back in college but Viet Nam took him. They actually could be twins even though brother would be old enough to be his father. It broke my heart when the news hit that he was in trouble.
It is a joy to be able to respond on these fan pages with someone who is not vindictive and vicious. Mike is on FB. They have been known to kick people out when they starte the negativity. And he responds.

My condolences for the loss of your brother. I know that it was a long time ago, but the pain from such a loss never really leaves us and though I don’t know you personally, I care.
I too wasn’t very clear on some of my statements. When I suggested MV volunteering for an animal rescue I didn’t mean specifically working with dogs as I know he isn’t allowed to be around them just yet. There’s many more things that go into animal rescue that don’t involve actual work with the animals. I’m all for MV speaking to children. As much as I advocate for animal rights, teaching our children to be responsible for their own actions in a day and age where there’s always someone else to blame is the bigger issue at hand.
On the PETA issue, I need to do more research on that one. I do know that it was said in the beginning that the actual costs were going to far outweigh the cost of court ordered restitution. That being said, I know from experience that the cost to take care of an animal with no physical, emotional or aggression issues is a lot more than many think. When you add the cost of any or all of the aforementioned issues on top of basic care the costs are astronomical. Think of the cost of our own healthcare. It would be difficult to get a definite on projected costs as some of the dogs are still being rehabilitated. The thing that I think bothers me the most is that neither MV or his reps have called the rescues that took his dogs to see how they were doing or to thank the workers for all their long hours and hard work. A small gesture such as that would be a step in the right direction for redemption.
I’d check out the facebook page, but I’m one of the last people on earth to not have a facebook account. I can’t bring myself to do it. Haha!

Thanks for your condolences, it has been a long time and some times it does hurt sometimes espically when his sons come to visit.
I got your point on the animal rescue. I think and according to my nephew who is friends with MV in ATL and this is hear say, he can’t come in contact with the animals or who ever is taking care of them.
However the ones that could be rehabed have been adopted.
As for his representatives, and this my opinon, they don’t have a clue and this includes his girlfriend, not to put her down. Just look at the fiasco his brother created last summer for MV’s birthday party, somebody got shot, a person who was involved in the criminal case and was not suppoed to be around MV. The party was open to the publish as opposed to invitational. MV says he didn’t know that the All White party was opened to the public, he needs to pay attention to what’s going on around him.
Mike surrounded by and he uses them as his reps people he considers friends and they are killing him. There are engagements are missed because he was not informed. I agree that he should try and reach out to the people who are handling the animals now, but he is leaving it up to them to do these things.
I had conversation with him on face book last year and put him in touch with a couple of real old football players (60-70 years old). He contacted them and they have taken him under their wings. I think he needs to hire more experienced, professional representatives, and he just may in the future.
Facebook is really not that bad, most of my classmates are on there, that’s how I talk with my children who no longer live in my area and also their father who is still some what in my life. You just have to be careful who you chose as friends.
All in all MV is going to be alright, he just needs to pay attention to his surroundings and who he perceives to be his friends. Most people only 3 people they can actually call friends 5 at the most the rest are associates.
I enjoy chatting with you also. It’s not often you can come on these sites and have an intellectual conversation and respect each others opinion, there is one other site I go to re; MV and they are so vicious except one guy, he lives in Philly and says he is six’8″. I told him I don’t need to be on your bad side so lets be friends. He was mmisinterpreting things I commented on, I simply asked him to read the whole staetment and then comment.
